To build a future-ready business, clarity and confidence are sparked by engaging in honest, challenging discussions with an independent adviser who helps drive progress, at pace.

Whether you’re tackling a long‑standing challenge, unlocking new growth, testing diversification, strengthening governance, or pausing to reset direction, an external perspective helps cut through complexity. Independent advisers challenge assumptions, connect internal realities with market dynamics, and help leaders focus on what truly matters.

For many business owners, day‑to‑day demands leave little time to step back and plan. and accessing objective, high‑quality advice can feel costly or complex.

Grant Thornton’s Private Enterprise team delivers targeted business strategy sessions designed around your business, your industry and your priorities. Drawing on our full‑service capability, we assemble the right specialists and tailor the timing and frequency – whether at the start of a relationship or as part of an ongoing annual or periodic review.

These sessions identify three to five critical issues that will unlock momentum and drive success. We then translate these into a practical, prioritised implementation plan, supporting you to communicate clearly with your team, track progress, and embed change through hands‑on programs delivered alongside your people.

Our strategy workshops bring together deep industry insight, advisory expertise and specialist capabilities to clarify direction and confirm priorities. When leadership teams have clarity on where to focus, how to move forward, and how to deliver better value, drive growth and build a business ready for what’s next, success is achieved.

Our business strategy workshops

Grant Thornton International has distilled years of strategic conversations into 6 Box, which is a practical methodology that focuses on what truly drives business survival and growth. It brings clarity across six critical success factors:

  • Realistic strategic ambitions
  • Finance growth
  • Manage risk and regulation
  • Optimise operations
  • Engage leadership and talent
  • Maximise stakeholder value

Using informed questioning and visual tools, 6 Box helps you clearly articulate your ambitions, prioritise what matters most, and turn insight into a focused action plan. Supported by our technology, we can work with you in person or remotely, adapting to how your business operate.

The framework is flexible and can be used in a full leadership workshop or a targeted one on one discussion. Our role is to help protect your business today while positioning it to grow at pace for generations to come.

"The 6 Box session with Grant Thornton was extremely engaging and also useful from a practical perspective. Their extensive background and knowledge in manufacturing gave me additional insight into options and improvements in our current operations. They were also able to give perspective on how COVID-19 has impacted the manufacturing sector on a broader scale. For example, it was reassuring to know that other manufacturing businesses inundated with orders had found it difficult to find staff in the last quarter of 2020 when labour shortages were not yet a well- known issue for businesses operating in this space. It was reassuring to know nearly all other manufacturing businesses were experiencing the same pain and helped us look at the problem differently... "We have implemented DIFOT (delivery in full, on time) measures as a result of the meeting and tracking this has really helped us identify areas for improvement and also recognise where we are performing really well especially against industry standards. The 6 Box session with the Grant Thornton team was a highlight for me in 2020. I have enjoyed working with Peter and Madison over the last 2 years and find that their personalised service and professional approach to be very beneficial to both myself and the business. Thank you!"
