Recently, Australia finalised the legislation to implement mandatory climate-related financial disclosures, and mandatory assurance over annual sustainability reports for certain entities beginning in 2025.

In the same week, the new international sustainability assurance standard was approved, and the AUASB released the draft timeline of Australian sustainability assurance.
