We believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity, recognising the unique challenges women face when it comes to working in the superannuation industry.

The Grant Thornton SuperWomen Initiative was born out of a commitment to listen to the challenges that women in the industry are facing and find solutions to assist some of the barriers for women in the industry.

Whether you work in a retail fund, public sector fund, corporate fund, or industry super fund, our focus for seeking your insights is to better understand your experiences and expectations, the support systems you find valuable, and the pathways you envision for professional growth.

SuperWomen Table Talk

In partnership with Women’s Agenda, our Inaugural Table Talk dinner was developed in response to feedback and insights uncovered in our SuperWomen Initiative Survey 2023.

Joined by female leaders in the superannuation industry, the event was a great opportunity to provide a forum for women in the industry to network. The result was an evening of thought-provoking conversations about the distinct challenges many women face in superannuation, alongside their successes, and strategies for positive change.

Co-hosted by Grant Thornton Partner Himashini Weeraratne and Women’s Agenda Publisher & Co-Founder Angela Priestley, the discussion put a spotlight on the gender gap in superannuation and the importance of female representation in leadership roles.

Read the article from Women’s Agenda about the discussions and meaningful insights shared, a comprehensive overview of the key takeaways and highlights from the dinner.

Spotlight on Women in Super

As part of our "Spotlight on Women" series, in partnership with Women’s Agenda, we’re profiling women in superannuation.

Across our podcast and YouTube video series, we showcase the women who are reshaping Australia’s superannuation industry. Featuring CEOs, entrepreneurs, educators and changemakers, these women share invaluable insights on managing superannuation and bridging the gender gap in retirement savings. Each share why they've identified super as an area they can transform, the potential in super for everyone, and how they build purpose-driven careers that make big changes happen.

Both the podcast and YouTube video series are made possible thanks to our partnership with Women’s Agenda. It's produced by Agenda Media, the publisher of Women's Agenda.
